Three different types of adaptive kayaking opportunities are available to you!
“Come Try It” events are half-day gatherings where you can take a short outing to see if kayaking is a sport for you. If you like it, the Foundation offers you options to improve your kayaking skills and to take guided paddling trips.
Want to improve your kayaking skills? The Foundation offers “SmartStart Paddling” and “Quickstart Your Kayak” training programs led by an American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor. The half to full day programs include instruction on the kayaking environment, safety and rescues, equipment, paddling skills and maneuvers.

Really want to get out there? Come along guided, half-day trips on the beautiful coastal waters around Battle Island and New Smyrna Beach. The trips will include a Florida Master Naturalist that will share information about the plants and animals in Florida’s magical coastal systems.
